Tangee Inc | Handbag

In the fall of 1999 Tangee Inc launched t.bag (“short for Tangee, short for handbag”). Echoing the same clean lines, unique textures and luxurious materials found in the Tangee Inc bedding collection, t.bag incorporate the signature use of faux suede with semi-precious gemstones and exotic shells. In 2000, the Fashion Group International of Chicago honored t.bag in the accessories category of the “Style Makers & Rule Breakers” awards ceremony.  In 2001, the Chicago icon Marshall Field’s bestowed t.bag with the “Distinction In Design” award.  t.bag soon reached celebrity fashion conscious from local Chicago favorite Liz Phair to Halle Berry, Bai Ling and Regina King.

In the fall of 2005 t.bag collection evolved into a classic collection of handbags under the label Tangee debuting at the very first Marshall Field’s Chicago Designer Shop. The collection incorporate the signature use of faux suede as the lining with metallic lambskin, lizard & croc embossed lambskin leather, semi-precious gemstone and pearl accent. The answer to a great little bag for any occasion-weddings, black tie event, cocktail party, gallery opening or dining out. These little portable pieces of art are already getting buzz with Desperate Housewives costume designer Cate Adair picking up the bronze pearl cluster gathered clutch for the show’s cast, which made its debut carried by actress Eva Longoria.

In the fall of 2006 Macy’s Chicago showcased local designers and the Tangee Inc bridal and evening collections were featured.  Designed with a sophisticated, timeless elegance in duchesse silk satin mixed with metallic lambskin leather, hand- sewn freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and finished with something blue faux suede lining.  Both collections were launched in March 2007 at The National Bridal Market Chicago.
